Lichfield City FC boss Dean Gilbert has issued a hands-off warning to clubs interested in striker Dan Hodgkins.

The hitman’s record of 13 goals in 11 appearances has attracted a number of potential suitors.

But Gilbert is determined to hold on to the former Henley Forest hitman after another show-stopping performance in the win over Young Warriors.

The City manager explained:

“He produced another superb performance. I brought Dan in at the start of the season because, quite simply, he is one of the best strikers in the Midland Combination and he is showing why he is so sought after.

“It was a fantastic hat-trick with his second goal a superb 18-yard screamer into the top of the net. We have received approaches from clubs in higher leagues but the message is clear: ‘he is going nowhere’.

“He’s enjoying his football and the banter in the club is excellent and he is part of this.”
