Lichfield is the most expensive place to be buried in the UK, according to a new survey.
New figures show that on average a burial in the city costs £1,270, according to a report in the Birmingham Mail.
The study by Avalon Funeral Plans showed that the cheapest interment was just £50 in Blaby, Leicestershire.
Mike Cooper, managing director at Avalon, said:
“As space dwindles and fees grow, the number of burials is expected to decrease rapidly. It seems that dying has become a very expensive business.”
