People are being given the chance to see their photographs published in a visitor guide to Lichfield.

The tourism team at Visit Lichfield is looking for images of the various attractions in the area.

The 2011 guide will include locations such as Lichfield Cathedral, Drayton Manor Theme Park and The National Memorial Arboretum.

Professional and amateur photographers are now being invited to send in their pictures for inclusion.

Councillor Louise Flowith, Cabinet Member for Tourism, said:

“We want to make our visitor guide as bright and beautiful as can be, and we need lots more pictures of the district. This is why we’re hoping budding photographers will help us.

“If we choose your photo, we will credit you to make sure you get full recognition. And, as we send thousands of our guides out to tourist information centres and visitor attractions, it is a great opportunity to have your work seen by thousands of people up and down the country and overseas.

“Plus, you never know, your picture could even make the front cover shot or be printed inside the guide.”

The photos need to taken on a digital camera and be of a high quality and resolution. The deadline to enter photos is December 1, 2010. To find out more and see how to submit your photos, visit

  1. Cheap (free) crowd-sourced stock images. Guess it saves on paying a professional to do their job when you can get it for free from amateurs.
