Chasetown FC’s Ramone Stephens has been tipped to continue his fine form as the Scholars face Whitby Town.

The pacey midfielder scored the crucial second goal as his side beat Workington 2-0 in the FA Trophy in midweek.

And team-mate Dave Egan admitted he was keeping his fingers crossed for another “unplayable performance” from Stephens.

He told The Lichfield Blog:

“There’s no doubt that he’s class and when he’s in the sort of form he was against Workington he is unplayable.

“It was nice to see him get on the scoresheet – he usually has a panic attack when he gets a sight of goal!

“Hopefully he’ll be able to put a run of goals together now.”

Chasetown return to league action hoping to propel themselves back amongst the front runners when they entertain Whitby tomorrow (November 27).

The Scholars currently sit 11th on 26 points, five places above Whitby who have played a game more on 20 points.

And goalkeeper Ryan Price has urged the Scholars not to get carried away by their FA Trophy success.

He explained:

“I’ve always said that the league is where you are really measured – and we know that it’s our bread and butter.”

Tomorrow’s game kicks off a 3pm at the Scholars Ground.
