Lichfield City FC hoping weather won’t prevent away trip

Lichfield City FC are hoping their away trip to Leamington Hibernian in imoSports Midland Combination Division Two beats the freeze.

Only one fixture in the whole of the Midland Combination beat last weekend’s cold snap and, with temperatures set to remain below freezing, there are major doubts over games this Saturday (December 4).

Manager Dean Gilbert said:

“It was frustrating that our game against Knowle Reserves was postponed last Saturday. We’d beaten Young Warriors 4-1 the week before and played our best football of the season.

“The lads were chomping at the bit to get back out there but you can’t beat the elements.”

City remain in the third place with Leamington currently occupying seventh position. Should the game go ahead, kick-off is 2pm at Ajax Park, Hampton Road , Warwick.
