Lichfield and Burntwood residents can have their say on transport

Transport chiefs are calling on Lichfield and Burntwood residents to help shape the future of Staffordshire’s road network.

Staffordshire County Council has drawn up a Local Transport Plan (LTP) that looks at transport provision up to 2026.

Residents can comment on facilities for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, the availability of public transport and the management and maintenance of roads and footpaths.

Transport links can have a direct impact on a number of issues including how safe people feel, how healthy they are and their quality of life. They also directly affect the economy and the environment.

Staffordshire County Councillor Robert Marshall, Cabinet member for Infrastructure and Regeneration, said:

“The transport network affects everyone, everyday and I am very keen to hear residents’ views on how we can improve provision in Staffordshire. Any comments on any aspect of transport will be welcome.

“The consultation is the perfection opportunity for people to get their opinions heard and to influence the way that the transport system is structured in the future.”

To comment on the LTP proposals visit or call Nicola Swinnerton on 01785 276633. Residents can have their say until December 23.
