The weather may have thawed but Lichfield City FC froze as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Henley Forest in imoSports Midland Combination Division Two.

After back-to-back postponements due to the inclement weather, City were left frustrated by defeat, which leaves them nine points behind league leaders Feckenham having played three more games.

Forest remain in second place, four points ahead of City with two games in hand.

It was a frustrating afternoon for manager Dean Gilbert, whose side were awarded the Team of the Month Award for November after remaining unbeaten thanks to three wins and two draws.

This Saturday (December 18) City entertain Leamington Hibernian at Brownsfield Park (kick-off 2pm).

There was better news for City’s Reserves who recorded a 5-2 victory over Alveston Reserves in imoSports Midland Combination Division Three.

Andy McRobbie’s side, who travel to Future Legends on Saturday (kick-off 2pm), are eighth in the table with 16 points to their name.
