Burntwood community groups are being invited to apply for funding through a new initiative.

The Burntwood Community Chest will allow organisations in the town to apply for a grant of up to £200 to spend on local projects.

The money can be used to fund community activities, equipment, training or volunteering opportunities.

Councillor Helen Fisher, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said:

“Community groups work hard to run valuable clubs and services for our residents, and, along with Burntwood Town Council and Bromford Living, we wanted to offer them an extra funding boost. So, if you are a Burntwood community group, remember to apply for a Burntwood Community Chest grant in the new year.”

For an application form visit www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/burntwoodcommunitychest or pick one up from the Old Mining College Centre in Chasetown. Applications run from January 1, 2011, to February 28, 2011.
