Chasetown FC set to return to league action

Chasetown FC are gearing up to see in 2011 in style by taking on North Ferriby United at the Scholars Ground today.

It has been seven weeks since the Scholars last played an Evo-Stik Premier League game, but the players have worked hard in training to keep themselves match-fit and have also kept focused on the League after their FA Carlsberg Trophy success at Kettering Town.

The fixture will be manager Charlie Blakemore’s 400th in charge of the side – but the boss has admitted that getting the three league points will be more important than celebrating this milestone.

The game will also see the launch of the new Blue Army 50-50 Draw, with one lucky winner set to receive a £250 prize when the inaugural draw is made at half-time.

North Ferriby United was the scene of a memorable 4-1 FA Carlsberg Trophy win for Chasetown in the past, and the two sides are sure to be keen to take each other on once again.

The Scholars will also use the game to get themselves fully match-fit for their trip to Marine on Monday (January 3).
