“We have been looking at the scheme to ensure that, in changing market conditions, it continues to best meet the city’s requirements. The changes are not significant but it is some time since we have been in dialogue with the public so this seemed a good opportunity to update them on our scheme. As always, we welcome feedback.”Changes include improvements to the car park layout, a reduction in the number of larger retail units to accommodate more stores and changes to the shape and form of the proposed hotel. Councillor Mike Wilcox, Leader of Lichfield District Council, added:
“We’re keen to get feedback from local people about the updated plans, which show some changes in the design of the previously approved Friarsgate development, before the planning application is submitted. So, do come along to see the plans and give us your views.”No date has yet been agreed for work to begin on the scheme.
