Residents will be able to take a look at the latest plans for the Friarsgate development at an event in the city.
S Harrison Developments Ltd and Lichfield District Council are holding a two-day mini exhibition at Lichfield Heritage Centre, Market Square, on January 14 (10.30am-5pm) and 15 (10am-2pm) where they will show new drawings of the scheme and a revised 3D model.
On top of seeing the amended plans, the information event will be an opportunity for people to give their comments on them.
Development director David Clancy said:
“We have been looking at the scheme to ensure that, in changing market conditions, it continues to best meet the city’s requirements. The changes are not significant but it is some time since we have been in dialogue with the public so this seemed a good opportunity to update them on our scheme. As always, we welcome feedback.”
Changes include improvements to the car park layout, a reduction in the number of larger retail units to accommodate more stores and changes to the shape and form of the proposed hotel.
Councillor Mike Wilcox, Leader of Lichfield District Council, added:
“We’re keen to get feedback from local people about the updated plans, which show some changes in the design of the previously approved Friarsgate development, before the planning application is submitted. So, do come along to see the plans and give us your views.”
No date has yet been agreed for work to begin on the scheme.
