People in Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged not to visit accident and emergency departments if they have flu. The warning comes from South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) to try and prevent the illness from spreading. The PCT said people suffering with a sudden fever, cough or shortness of breath or a headache, sore throat, tiredness, aching muscles, chills, sneezing, runny nose or loss of appetite should start to feel better after a few days without needing to go to a GP or A&E. Help yourself and others by not spreading the virus.  If you feel unwell: A spokesperson said:
“People should not go to their GP surgery or local accident and emergency department unless advised to do so or if you are seriously ill – because you might spread the illness to others.”
People suffering with symptoms are advised to visit or call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47.
