The Lichfield branch of Cats Protection is looking for new volunteers to help with it’s work in the city.

As part of the national charity, Lichfield branch has two volunteer fosterers who look after cats while new owners are found for them. They are supported by other volunteers who help to raise funds and promote the cause.

Lichfield Cats Protection is holding their first Volunteer Meeting of 2011, and is welcoming anyone along interested in finding out more about what they do. They are particularly keen to meet people interested in fundraising, organising events, answering the helpline, carrying out homing visits, helping with tracing lost and found cats, answering emails, helping with finances, helping with publicity, carrying out educational talks, or even setting up an ‘Adopt a Cat Pen’ scheme for the branch.

The meeting will be held at 7pm on the 19th January at the Volunteer Centre, Mansell House, 22 Bore Street, Lichfield WS13 6LL (near Wilkinson’s).  Those interested who can’t make the meeting are encouraged to contact [email protected] or call on 0845 371 2741.
