Goalkeeper Ryan Price believes Chasetown FC have drawn the biggest tie possible in the FA Trophy.

The Scholars take on Grimsby Town on Saturday (January 15) in one of the most anticipated games since the club’s FA Cup exploits.

And Price believes the draw will give Charlie Blakemore’s men the chance to test their ability against the biggest club left in the competition.

He told The Lichfield Blog:

“There isn’t a bigger tie left in the FA Trophy in my eyes than Grimsby Town, but I don’t think they’ll take us lightly.”

The Scholars’ growing reputation as giant-killers was added to in the last round when they saw off Kettering Town with a dramatic injury time winner in the replay.

And Price has refused to rule out history repeating itself in knockout competitions against the former Football League club.

“If we take our chances then you never know what might happen on the day. People don’t back against Chasetown in cup games for a reason.

“Get a big crowd behind us and you can never say never.”

The game kicks off at the Scholars Ground at 3pm.
