Tipitina

The band that set last year’s Real Ale , Jazz & Blues Festival alight ‘TIPITINA’ are making a return to play Lichfield Guildhall on Friday January 21st.

The three piece ensemble is virtuoso pianist Justin Randall, who’s style and technique encompasses stride piano, boogie, and New Orleans music, drummer Gary Barber, and electrifying singer Debbie Jones who’s voice is more than a match for the power-house band that plays behind her.

Their repertoire goes from the songs of Fats Waller, and Fats Domino, to the quieter styles of Dr John and Tom Waits, as well as playing a number of their own original songs and compositions.

Lichfield Arts Director Brian Pretty said “After their sensational debut at last years Real Ale, Jazz & Blues Festival we just had to bring this band back as quickly as possible. They are a group that are able to cover all of the bases, from upbeat swing, to more moody melancholic pieces, they are a band that you won’t be able to sit down for long.”

Concerts starts at 8.30pm and tickets priced at £12/, £11 for concessions, £10 for members and £6 for students, and are available online, by calling 01543 262223, or calling into the Lichfield Arts Box Office in Donegal House, on Bore Street.
