Coseley Town Ladies 2 Chasetown Ladies 4

A brilliant second half performance saw Chasetown record their first league win of the season.

The first half was played against the wind and rain and Coseley were restricted to a 1-0 lead at half time. Becky Troth pulled off some excellent saves in the opening period to help give Chasetown the advantage.

A potential turning point occurred early in the second half when Coseley thought they had scored a second, only for the referee and linesman to rule to goal offside.

A few minutes later Chasetown scored the equaliser. A pinpoint cross from Charlotte Bull gave Sinead Treanor the simplest of headed goals.

Within a few minutes the visitors had raced out to a 3-1 lead with two goals from Jade Arber.

Coseley were not finished yet and made the game tense with a second goal. However, the midfield was being dominated by Carly Edwards and player of the match Jodie Kinsey.

Kinsey’s long range shooting was causing Coseley problems and forcing the goalkeeper into some good saves.

The match was made safe when Treanor scored a spectacular goal from and acute angle, bringing her total to eight in nine matches so far.
