The Gruesome and Ghostly tours, which are led by Visit Lichfield’s Green Badge tour guides, tell tantalising tales of Lichfield’s history through the recounting of ghostly tales. Stops include Erasmus Darwin house, the market square with it’s history of burnings and the ghosts of Dam Street plus many more.
Tours culminate in a glass of mulled red wine and a sausage roll at one of Lichfield’s public houses.
Councillor Louise Flowith, Cabinet Member for Tourism, said:
If you haven’t been on one of these brilliant tours, make sure you don’t miss out! We only run the tours in the winter months, so now’s your chance to book a chilling and thrilling evening out! The tours give a fascinating insight into Lichfield’s gruesome past and shine a new light on our historic city.
The creepy tours will take place on 26 and 31 January, and 2, 8, 16 and 28 February at 7pm. Tickets cost £6.25, and can be bought from the Tourist Information Centre in the Lichfield Garrick or by telephoning the team on 01543 412112. October will see the start of the next season of tours.
