Children are being invited to get arty at the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum in Lichfield.

The Tremendous Trees event on February 24 will give children the opportunity to learn different painting techniques to create artwork, before finishing their masterpieces off with a fancy frame,

The half-term fun is being led by artist Carole Collier. She said:

“Tremendous Trees is all about letting your imagination run wild while having fun getting messy with paint. I’m really looking forward to seeing all the finished paintings in their frames.”

The activity will use everyday items to paint with, from sponges and straws to spoons, so that visitors can continue their art at home.

The session is drop-in and costs £2. Standard entrance to the Museum is free for all ages, and activities including a cat hunt, colouring and costumes are also available for free everyday throughout the holidays.
