The Craft Xtreme Challenge event at Catton Hall saw participants take on a five mile course riddled with natural and man-made obstacles.

In an exciting finish Marcus MacDonald of Burntwood Tri Club held off a brave on the line challenge from Uttoxeter Road Runners Rob Hall to win in a fast time of 34mins 44secs with Hall just a second behind in 34mins 45secs. Chris Tonks was third in 35mins 38secs.

In the female event, first home was Nicola Edwards in 45mins 09 secs, followed by Megan Hawes in 48mins 32 secs with Louise Richardson in 49mins 14secs.

Kevin Wilson of organisers KP Events was thrilled with the response to the first running of the event. He said:

“Catton Hall Estate is a fantastic venue for an event such as this and the conditions today being so testing made it even better, we have had some fantastic feedback, I’m sure next February will see us have at least double the entrants.”
