Movie fans are being given the chance to have their say over which films are shown as part of the Lichfield Festival.
Films a returning to the event after a two-year absence and a shortlist of 30 of the greatest cinematic moments of the last 100 years has already been drawn up, with a public vote deciding which ten will be shown.
Among the movies on the shortlist are Buster Keaton’s 1926 classic The General, Babe, Pulp Fiction, Blade Runner, Attack of the 50ft Woman and The King’s Speech.
Lichfield Festival Director, Fiona Stuart, said:
“It is tremendously exciting to be able to bring films back to the Festival to celebrate our 30th birthday, and even more exciting that it will be entirely down to our Festival audience which films we see.
“Picking a shortlist of 30 has been incredibly difficult and we couldn’t face narrowing it down any further alone. It will be fascinating to see what our audience chooses.”
To cast your vote go to www.lichfieldfestival.org/film-vote and pick your top-ten. Voting closes on March 18 and the results will be announced in the Festival Guide at the end of April.
The Festival Film series will take place in the evenings at 9.30pm during the Festival, which runs from July 7 to 16, and will be held at an outdoor cinema in the city.
