Highlights included music from The Offbeat, Rockit and a flute duo, as well as a demonstration by Pedralta – a world fusion and tribal belly dancing group.

Councillor Bernard Derrick, chairman of the Lichfield District Arts Partnership, said:

“This was a wonderful evening, and showed just how much creativity and talent we’ve got in the district. Thank you to everyone who took part and made this such an interesting and entertaining event.”

The evening was also a chance to hear how work on Chase Terrace Technology College’s art space is progressing.

This will see the students running an arts venue for the college and wider community, expected to open next year.

Tim Chamberlin, deputy head of the school said:

“We were delighted to host this district-wide event, which showcased the wonderful talents of our home grown artists. I was especially proud to see school students’ work exhibited beside the displays of more established artists.

“It was a great taste of what our new art space will offer the community in the future.”
