Thirty model pigs have arrived in Lichfield to be decorated as part of a community project.
The life-size casts, once completed, will form part of the 30th Lichfield Festival, which runs from July 6 to 17.
All 30 of the pigs, sponsored by Packington Pork, were delivered to Cathedral Close before being distributed to community groups.
Packington Pork partner Robert Mercer said:
“They are very lifelike and will look superb when they are finished. I am sure everyone will have lots of fun decorating them and hopefully they will raise some good money in the auction at the end of the festival, as well as providing a really exciting new dimension to the festival with the Pig Parade.
“From a personal point of view, I’m really pleased to be able to sponsor this event and I am looking forward to opening the farm up to visitors during the Festival.”
Community organisations, local businesses and schools have all seized the opportunity to join the Lichfield Pig Parade. All 30 have designated decorators and homes to go to where they will be displayed once they are finished.
Visitors will be able to follow the Lichfield Festival’s Pig Trail by visiting all the sculptures in turn during their installation. Schools taking part will also be invited to take a farm tour with Packington Pork, where they will meet real free-range pigs.
The decorated pigs will also be available to buy at an auction at the end of the Festival.

Ahh, I did wonder what that was doing at work!
I want one, it would look great in my garden (It might keep my dog off the grass)
