Burntwood RUFC U15 17 Old Halesonians RUFC U15 15

Burntwood RUFC U15s edged in front at the vital moment to defeat Old Halesonians at The Sportsway 17-15.

The deadlock was broken after 20 minutes by Callum Grundy who punted the ball through, chased his own kick and touched down for the opening try.

The visitors levelled before the break and then went 10 points clear by putting Burntwood under pressure in the second half.

Elliot Woolley and Ben Tranter combined well together down the right wing to give Woolley a well-deserved try. Charlie Liggins added the all-important conversion.

Grundy scored his second try after intercepting an Old Halesonians’ pass and running it in from 50 metres in the last play of the match to clinch the win.
