Lichfield Friary Lawn Tennis Club is set to hold another open day.
There will be more free coaching, tennis demonstrations and the opportunity to simply have a go if you haven’t played before at the event on April 10, from 2pm to 4pm at the club’s Tamworth Road headquarters.
Head Coach Paul Bayliss is looking for more of Lichfield’s youngsters to go along and try the sport after the success of their first 2011 open day.
He said:
“The idea of the open day is to come along and have a go. It’s free, there’s nothing to lose. We’ll have lots of activities going on and all the family can participate with prizes on offer. Last month’s event was brilliant with lots of people enjoying themselves with many joining as members especially whole families.
“The club’s court schedules take into account the needs of juniors and their parents. Juniors have priorities every weekday late afternoon and on a Saturday and Sunday morning. We have a junior club night every Wednesday, team squads on a Monday night and there are monthly competitions and many opportunities to play either socially or in leagues.”
Lichfield Friary Tennis Club has six artificial grass floodlit courts, free parking and a large clubhouse. There are 14 mens, womens and mixed competitive teams and players of all standards are always welcome to join in.
