An agreement has been reached to end union action which has led to cancelled train services through Lichfield.

London Midland had been forced to cancel a number of services after the dispute with train drivers’ union ASLEF over the issue of overtime payments.

Services on the cross-city line and Euston route through Lichfield Trent Valley had been hit by the action, with weekend services particularly hard hit.

However, a statement on the ASLEF website confirmed an agreement had finally been reached. It said:

“Negotiators for ASLEF and London Midland have come to a draft agreement over a pay dispute following several days of intense talks. This means that industrial action will not take place in the company and the terms of the draft agreement will be put to ASLEF members for their endorsement.”
