TV presenter Jane Dayus-Hinch has been confirmed as the compere for the Lichfield Proms in Beacon Park.
The wedding planner – who will be presenting Canadian TV’s coverage of the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton today – will lead the annual free concert on September 3.
“I am so pleased and honoured to have been asked to compere this year’s Lichfield Proms, and I am really excited about the night. Lichfield’s my home town, and I know what a highlight our proms are.
“It’s such a treat to be able to come together and enjoy a superb evening’s entertainment. I will do my best on the night, and I will have lots of friends and family there with the usual picnic and fizzy stuff!”
Famous for her expertise in the popular Canadian TV programme, Wedding SOS, in which Jane answers distress calls from panicked brides and terrified bridegrooms, and saves the day as a fairy godmother who grants them three wishes to make their dream day come true.
The Proms in Beacon Park will feature music from Lichfield City Concert Band and British Police Symphony Orchestra. There will also be solos from the soprano singer Joanne Mayling and tenor Mitesh Khatri.
