A charity has been boosted by a donation from Lichfield Round Table.
A £250 cheque was given to Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton after the charity was chosen by the Major Rana, the runner who finished 250th in the Lichfield Half Marathon.
Lichfield Round Table and Lichfield Ladies Circle provided marshals for the route of the race which saw 1,300 runners pound the streets of Lichfield.
Julian Webb, Lichfield Round Table’s chairman, said:
“As a local group of men that raises funds for good causes in and around Lichfield, we gave the 250th finisher the chance to donate £250 from the money Lichfield Round Table raises through the year to a charity of their choice.
“Our Table charter number is 250 and this struck us as a good way of allowing the local community to help distribute the funds we raise locally. We are delighted that the 250th finisher has chosen Compton Hospice as his chosen charity.”
Lichfield Round Table welcomes new male members aged 18-45 from the Lichfield area to join it its varied fortnightly social activities including archery, wine tasting, go karting, sky diving, clay pigeon shooting and charity fundraising.
