Lichfield and Burntwood residents are being urged to volunteer to help raise money for charity.

Help for Heroes is searching for supporters to help raise awareness of their work at Tesco stores across the country on July 1 and 2.

The volunteering days form part of the Help for Heroes One Hour for Heroes (1H4H) appeal which launched earlier this month and will see politicians, companies, sportsmen, actors, celebrities and millions of people across the country give an hour of their time.

Bryn Parry OBE, CEO & co-founder of Help for Heroes, said:

“At Help for Heroes we rely heavily on our wonderful volunteers to help keep our overheads low and ensure more money goes to the wounded servicemen and women who need it. It is our hope that the 1H4H call to action will be heard across the country become a demonstration of National support for our heroes as well as enabling the charity to continue to provide direct, practical support to those who have been injured.”

One of the roles the charity is seeking help with is Store Point of Content. The person taking on the role will be responsible for:

  • Building a relationship with a local Store Manager to negotiate additional activity.
  • Recruiting volunteers to assist with the collection.
  • Ensuring that all donations are banked and reported efficiently.
