Spaces still left for Lichfield Festival Banner Project

Lichfield Banner Project

In the run up to this year’s Festival, renowned artist Stephen Raw has been working with the people of Lichfield to create hundreds of letters needed to form a giant community artwork called the Lichfield Banner.

The Banner will feature text from Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy’s specially commissioned poem for Lichfield and will be unveiled during the first reading of the poem at the Cathedral on 13th July 2011. The artwork will then remain on display for the remainder of the Festival.

If you’d like to be a part of this exciting project, there’s still time to submit your painted letter! Your letter must be:

  • Large (no smaller than A3)
  • Have no white or black space on the paper
  • Given a code number (please contact the office for details)

Submit your letter to the Festival Office at 7, The Close, Lichfield by Friday 20th May.

Alternatively, the Festival Team are holding a drop-in workshop at Burntwood Library, Sankeys Corner, Burntwood. 4:30pm – 6:30pm on Friday 20th May, where all ages are welcome to go along and paint a letter!

For details contact the Festival Office on 01543 306275 or email education@lichfieldfestival.org
