Audiences are invited to grab their top hats and tea gowns and come along to high tea at the Lichfield Garrick when the latest historical cookery show takes to the stage.

Professor Roland Rotherham and Master Chef Simon Smith will be will be going back in time to the mid Victorian times and hosting high tea.

The culinary duo have put their heads together and prepared a sumptuous menu of historical delights, including kipper souffle, salmon pastries, potted meats and sticky buns.

A spokesperson said:

“The historical cookery shows have become a firm favourite at the Lichfield Garrick and the Studio is the perfect setting. Told with humour, the professor guides the audience through the history of each dish while Simon cooks up each sumptuous dish before your eyes. You might even get the chance to sample the fayre afterwards.

“So journey back to the 1850s with the ‘frenetic foodies’, and wallow in some tea time fun.”
