The work of carers in Lichfield and Burntwood is set to be celebrated.
A range of events are taking place as part of Carers Week.
On Thursday (June 16) from 12noon to 2pm the Burntwood Alzheimer Café is holding a third anniversary party at the Scout Hut, Burntwood. The following day from 10am to 3pm Beacon Park Village on Lower Sandford Street in Lichfield will host an Older People’s Carers Event, that will see a number of different organisations offering information and advice about personal safety, fire safety, housing and benefit advice, assistive technology leisure opportunities and more.
County Councillor Matthew Ellis, Cabinet Member for Adult Wellbeing, said:
“Carers undertake a crucial role which improves the lives of individuals and is invaluable to society as a whole. Carers’ Week recognises that dedication and wider contribution. The large number of events taking place around Staffordshire celebrates the role of carers, provides an excellent opportunity for socialising and meeting friends as well as seeing what support, advice and ideas there are available.”
