Plans have been submitted to keep a temporary car park in Lichfield for another three years. The 116-space site at Staffordshire University was permitted until June 30. But the extension has now been requested as the Friary Outer development has been pushed back until September, meaning city drivers will face a temporary loss of 254 spaces. A statement supporting the application said:
“When completed, the Friary Outer car park development will provide 396 publicly available spaces, a net increase of 142 spaces. “The temporary car park at the University is therefore an important part of the Council’s plans to facilitate the Friary Outer development and accomodate customers when the Friary Outer car park closes.”
Residents can have their say on the proposal on Lichfield District Council’s planning website. [story-latest tag=”Friary-Outer”]
