Organised by Lichfield District Council, in partnership with North Lichfield Initiative, Freedom Cycles and Staffordshire County Council, the free ride will take place on July 3.

The last Cycle Rides for All event attracted 20 people who pedalled off to Fradley Junction in June.

July’s ride will be a ten to 12 mile cycle to Whittington for a picnic at Bit End field, with plenty of stops along the way.

Jerry Trill, from Lichfield District Council, said:

“This summer’s cycle rides are proving popular. Everyone who has come along seems to really enjoy the chance to be led on a cycle ride so they can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We’re hoping lots of people will join us on Sunday, but if you can’t make it to this ride there are plenty more in the series, including next month’s event, when we will be leading a more challenging 18 mile ride to Chasewater Country Park.”

The Cycle Rides for All take place on the first Sunday of every month until the final ride of the season on October 2. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Jerry added:

“If you want to join us on the Whittington ride, just bring your bicycle, safety helmet, a picnic and yourself to Freedom Cycles in Lichfield at 10am on July 3. If you don’t have a bike, you can borrow one of four new bikes that Staffordshire County Council has kindly loaned to us for the rides. Just call Just call Freedom Cycles on 01543 411633 to book a bike for free.”
