Lichfield Cathedral is set to feature in a BBC programme about the Staffordshire Hoard.

Presenter Dan Snow travelled across the old Kingdom of Mercia in a bid to unravel the secrets of the discovery of Anglo-Saxon gold.

The results will be detailed in the documentary on BBC1 on Sunday (July 3) at 6pm.

A spokesperson said:

“The programme was partly researched and filmed at Lichfield Cathedral and includes footage of the St Chad Gospels and Lichfield Angel.”

The Staffordshire Hoard will be visiting Lichfield Cathedral from July 30 to August 21. For information on viewing tickets call 01543 412121.
