People living in Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged to check their fridge freezers after fears that they could cause fires.

A number of BEKO models made between January 2000 and October 2006 have been identified as potentially dangerous.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has given the warning after the fridge freezers were blamed for a number of fires across the country.

A list of the models affected can be found on the Trading Standards website. Anyone with one of the affected models should contact the manufacturer on 0800 009 4837 between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
