The restored gates to refurbished gardens in Lichfield have been reopened.
Beacon Park’s Museum Gardens were given a makeover as part of the city’s multi-million pound Historic Parks Project.
Cllr Neil Roberts, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Development Services, explained:
“We’ve remodelled the gardens and restored the statues and fountain. We’ve also laid new pathways, added new seating and bins and restored the gates. We still have a few finishing touches to make, including improving the planting, which we’ll do over the summer and autumn, and installing historic information signs.
“The balustrades, that were damaged in a car accident last year, are also being re-crafted by master stone masons and will be installed as soon as they are ready.”
Well let’s hope that they have used the right flowers, or grass or at 80k the fountian pump isn’t one that shouldn’t be pumping water as nothing would surprise me…..now maybe they can concentrate on getting the playground right or is that too much to ask?
