Speedy youngsters are being invited to take part in a go-kart competition at Chasewater.

Throughout the summer, everyone who has a go on the country park’s karts will be entered into their Grand Prix contest to see who is the quickest.

Ellen Williams, Chasewater Country Park Ranger, said:

“To see if you are the fastest go-karter in town this summer, come to Chasewater Country Park during the week and enter our Grand Prix competition. It only costs £1.50 to do two laps, and, you never know, you could find out you’re on course to becoming the next formula 1 champion!”

Weekdays from July 25 to September 2, everyone over seven years of age who uses the go-karts will have the chance to do two timed laps, and enter their fastest time into the competition. The rangers will keep a tally of all the times, and, at the end of the summer, will find out who are the quickest drivers.

The three winning drivers will be awarded podium positions and prizes at a special presentation on September 4.

The go-kart circuit is next to the boating pool at Chasewater Country Park.
