Her Majesty the Queen visited Lichfield Cathedral for a service to welcome home a military regiment.
The Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomantry were returning from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

I think it was a shame that there was very little publicity about the Queen’s visit. I’ve spoken to loads of people who had no idea she was coming. A lot more people would have been lining the street had they known and Her Majesty would have got a proper indication of how much she is loved in Lichfield. It’s sad to see the pictures outside the cathedral with empty streets in the background.
