British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe will have information which can assist their investigation into the incident which took place at around 6.10pm on June 27.

Investigating officer, PC Ali Jama, said:

“A male passenger tried to exit the station through the wrong barrier and when stopped by a member of rail staff on the ticket barrier, the passenger pushed past the victim before swearing at her several times. Although uninjured, the man’s behaviour left the member of staff shaken. We will not tolerate aggression towards rail staff who have a right to do their job without incidents such as this taking place.

“After viewing CCTV from the station, I would now like to identify and speak to the man in this photograph about this incident. He is described as mixed race, in his early 20s, about 6ft and was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a white Adidas T-shirt and a white Adidas hat.

“I would ask anyone who knows his identity, or his current whereabouts, to contact British Transport Police.”

Anyone with information can call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, quoting incident reference B10/WWA of 25/07/2011, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
