A solicitor has admitted she is “delighted” after landing an associate promotion at a Lichfield law firm.
Shelly Wainwright, a wills, probate and tax planning specialist at Ansons, has been promoted to associate in her tenth year of being a qualified solicitor.
Mrs Wainwright joined the firm in 1999 as a trainee solicitor, having graduated from the University of Sheffield. She studied the Legal Practice Course at the University of Central England qualifying as a solicitor two years later in 2001.
“I am delighted about my promotion as I’m firmly committed to Ansons and since qualifying as a solicitor I have remained dedicated to learning and professional development.”
Mrs Wainwright is currently studying for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ diploma. STEP is the principal professional body and is recognised as the quality mark for professionals in the trust and estate administration sector.
Marie Tisdale, the wills, probate and tax planning partner at Ansons, said:
“Shelly is an important part of our team and her promotion to associate is suitable reward for her hard work, commitment and development as a leading solicitor in what is an increasingly complex and ever changing area of law.”
The promotion comes on the back of a successful year for the department which in a difficult economic climate has increased its client base in Staffordshire, particularly within Cannock and Lichfield, and been recognised in the Legal 500 directory of the top 500 UK law firms.
