Rush on St John Street has introduced the Advanced Skin Technologies anti-ageing range to help local people look good without using a needle.

Owner Ann Rushton decided to introduce the treatment after looking into alternatives to Botox. She explained:

“Botox and other injectables like hydrafillers and cellulite preventatives is a huge market and worth many millions in the UK alone. While Botox and other cosmetic injectables are undoubtedly popular with great results, there are some drawbacks.

“The use of a needle puts lots of would be customers off. The need to have the treatment administered by a medically trained person is a restriction. One of the primary ingredients is Botulinum Toxin which paralyses the muscles to provide the results. The high cost of cosmetic injectables puts them beyond the reach of many of us.”

The new treatment uses ultrasound technology, can be administered by therapists and costs less than half the price of traditional injection-based treatments.

Each session will last around an hour and can help tackle facial lines and wrinkles, skin blemishes, psoriasis, sagging skin, acne, stretch marks and cellulite.

Ann added:

“Some customers may want to achieve the celebrity Botox look which we can do with an intensive treatment course. Other customers may simply want to reduce the signs of ageing or tackle some cellulite, the treatment regime is entirely flexible.”
