Lichfield’s first competitive fixture at this level saw them produce a fine performance on a perfect pitch at Goodrich.

City were at Goodrich from the kick off. Josh Leaver pinched the ball from the left back and played it through to Danny Craythorne who finished with his left foot. However, their joy was shortlived as the assistant had flagged for offside.

Lichfield kept the pressure on all half but couldnt score, even when clean through on a couple of occasions.

But the breathrough finally came just after the interval when a strike from outside the box arrowed into the bottom corner to give Lichfield the lead.

Against the run of play Goodrich equalised when their centre forward made a jinking run in the area through some weak tackling and smashed the ball in the net.

Lichfield regained their lead when a ball was swung into the area and a powering header found the net.

City got a deserved third when Fabian Facey picked up the ball on the halfway line and played it into Leaver whose first touch laid it back into Facey’s path. The midfielder then burst through the defence and smashed the ball into the net.
