A Lichfield business has signed up to help relaunch a running event.
The Tamworth 10k is being brought back by Lichfield-based KP Events – the company behind the Lichfield Half-Marathon and the Lichfield Cathedral Dash.
And their attempts to put the race back on the map have been boosted after cutlery and gift manufacturer Arthur Price of England agreed to back the event.
Chief executive Simon Price said: “We have worked with KP Events this year at the Lichfield Dash where money was raised for the WeLoveLichfield Fund, so the opportunity to link again for such a prestigious race as the Tamworth 10k is fantastic for Arthur Price as a business that can get behind local events such as the Tamworth 10k, which bring the best out of people in the community.”
The Tamworth 10k takes place on October 16 at 10.30am and a number of runners have already signed up to take part in the race, which will take place for the first time since 2007.
The course begins in the Castle Grounds and KP Events are working with Tamworth Borough Council to ensure the race is a success.
