Chance for Lichfield and Burntwood residents to make a will and raise money for charity

Lichfield and Burntwood residents are being urged to make a will – and help raise money for charity at the same time.

St Giles Hospice’s Make A Will Fortnight takes place between October 3 and 14 and gives people the chance to take advantage of the professional services of selected solicitors across the region to prepare a standard will.

Instead of charging between £75 and £125 for such a service, participating solicitors have agreed to waive their fees during the course of the event in exchange for a voluntary donation to St Giles.

Helen Relihan, head of fundraising for St Giles Hospice, said:

“Knowing that loved ones will be looked after when a person is gone is reassuring and offers great peace of mind, but a significant proportion of people are still not in possession of a valid will. We are offering a unique opportunity to reduce the cost of having a will prepared professionally – all we ask is that, in return, participants donate what they can afford to help local people with cancer and other serious illnesses.”

All proceeds from Make a Will Fortnight will go towards funding the high-quality care St Giles Hospice provides to its patients and their families.

Roseblade and Company Solicitors in Burntwood will be taking part along with Ansons LLP Solicitors and Moseleys Solicitors in Lichfield.
