The Lichfield-based Midlands Co-operative Society has made a new management appointment.
Jane Firth will take on the role People Development Manager after making the switch from E.ON UK where she held the position of Learning and Development Business Partner for three and a half years.
“The democratic structure and values of a co-operative really do make it an organisation with people at its heart and this is one of the Society’s key differentiators,” she said. “I want to harness and develop the skills of our colleagues, within the framework of our business strategy, so that individuals are able to reach their full potential and contribute positively to the Society.
“I am currently focusing on a number of key projects, including performance management, competency based development programmes and e-learning, as well as the development of my team, with the long term aim of developing a career focused learning journey for every colleague.”
Jane started her career in Human Resources in 1993 after completing a Management Systems degree at Hull University and then went onto specialise in learning and development. She has a post graduate qualification in Human Resource Development and is a qualified practitioner for OPQ32, WAVE, MBTI and EQi psychometrics.
After receiving a life-saving transfusion back in 2006, Jane is now an ambassador for the National Blood Service and regularly takes part in publicity campaigns to encourage people to donate blood.
