Mathematics students from Lichfield have visited Birmingham University to hear a range of lectures on the subject.

Nether Stowe School students from years 11 to 13 attended the London Mathematical Society Popular Lecture, where they heard talks on symmetry, chance and determinism by Dr Colva Roney-Dougal of St Andrew’s University.
They also discussed how climate models work with Dr Hilary Weller of the University of Reading.
Student Sam Weston said: “We learnt a lot about symmetry and that randomness is not random!’
Nether Stowe School’s sixth form will be holding an open day on November 16 from 5pm to 7pm.
If anyone would like to find out more about these enrichment activities, there will be an opportunity at the Sixth Form Open evening on Wednesday 16th November from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
