Lichfield and Burntwood residents are being invited to join a winter walk on Gentleshaw Common.

The event, which takes place from 3pm to 4.45pm on December 18, will be led by Lichfield District Council’s biodiversity officer Chris Walsh.

The two-mile circular walk will take in the common’s forest, heaths and marshes. It will also include a hot drink and a mince pie.

Chris said: “This walk is for all abilities and is a good opportunity to be guided around the wintry common.

“The sunset is really beautiful at this time of year, so I hope lots of people will join me in seeing it.

“Please remember to wrap up warm and wear sturdy shoes or boots, and bring a torch.”

The walk will set off from The Windmill pub in Gentleshaw, and costs £2.50.
