Lichfield motorbike club event set to mark military deaths in Afghanistan

A Lichfield motorbike club is looking for volunteers to take part in an event to raise awareness of the number of military personnel who have lost their lives in Afghanistan.

Nearly 400 servicemen and women have been killed in the conflict and Lichfield Lizards are aiming to take a poignant photograph marking the human toll of the conflict on December 18.

Organiser Dave Gouldingay explained: “We have a professional photographer to capture the mass group holding a sheet with the name and number of the lost serviceman or woman.

“The aim of the event is for awareness to the cost in human life in Afghanistan in our fight against terrorism.

“At the same time we are hoping to raise a bit of cash at the event in aid of Combat Stress. All we ask is for every participant to pay £1 each for the name sheet.”
