Edingale village was recognised recently as being the Best Kept in the county and part of that award was about the quality of community facilities in the area.

The village hall, which saw the development of a state of the art adventure play area last year, has itself seen significant improvements over recent years meaning more local groups are using it.

And Staffordshire County Councillor Matthew Ellis has provided £800 from his Local Community Fund.

“I’ve helped the village hall before from my Local Community Fund,” he explained. “The money is always used exceptionally well to make sensible improvements for the local community.

“This time it is for improvements to the coffee and bar area to make it easier to cater for larger numbers.

“When I visited them recently to present the cheque I found a vibrant and noisy gathering of the weekly play group with the place busy as youngsters played and mums socialised. Just what a community facility should be used for and I’m delighted to help.”
