Diners in Lichfield and Burntwood are being reminded to check the food hygiene standards of local restaurants during the festive period. The plea comes from Lichfield District Council as families, friends and work colleagues prepare to dine out at Christmas. The RateMyPlace scheme allows members of the public to find out how eateries fared in their food hygiene inspections. It’s easy to find out how many stars local eateries have been awarded by checking online at www.ratemyplace.org.uk. Councillor Ian Pritchard, Lichfield District Council’s cabinet member for housing, health and environmental protection, said: “When dining out, you’ll choose to go to a place where you like the food and you know you’ll have a good time. “It makes sense to look before you book and check out the food hygiene rating as well.”
