Official opening for Hammerwich Cricket Club’s improved facilities

The ribbon has been cut on new and improved facilities at Hammerwich Cricket Club.

The club’s entrance has undergone a £21,000 facelift thanks to £16,334 section 106 funding and a top up by the club’s own funds.

The improvements were launched in front of invited guests, including officers and councillors from Lichfield District Council.

The facelift includes a concrete drive, a disabled parking bay, and improved areas of the car park.

Councillor Neil Roberts, Lichfield District Council’s cabinet member for development services, said: “It is always good to see how section 106 money has been spent within the community.

“Hammerwich Cricket Club is a valuable resource for local people, who will undoubtedly appreciate the improved entrance.”

Dave Henn, Chairman for Hammerwich Cricket Club, added: “We’re thrilled with the new entrance. It makes access much easier, and compliments our new club house and grounds.

“We are currently raising funds for the next phase of the project, which includes resurfacing the car park.”
